Creative Commandments

Creativity is a fundamental quality of being human. Each person on this earth has the capacity to express their journey, their perspective, and their unique lens through a multitude of mediums. My medium happens to be photography. Here are my three "creative commandments" that inform and inspire my work:

1) Meaning-making is a process that is situated in the present. Whenever I want to portray a specific emotion or feeling, I try to situate myself and my art within the present moment. By focusing on the rhythm of now, I am able to immortalize a certain feeling through photography. This comes with the inevitable caveat of subjectivity - all art is interpreted uniquely by the beholder.

2) Try new things; Don't be afraid to break the rules. Rules are meant to be broken.

3) Inspire and uplift your community. Art exists to be shared with the world. By sharing our art, we share our soul, we share our family, we share our roots.

Inspiration

i exist in the depths of solitude
pondering my true goal
trying 2 find peace of mind
and still preserve my soul
constantly yearning 2 be accepted
and from all receive respect
never comprising but sometimes risky
and that is my only regret

a young heart with an old soul
how can there be peace
how can i be in the depths of solitude
when there r 2 inside of me
this duo within me causes
the perfect oppurtunity
2 learn and live twice as fast
as those who accept simplicity

“Remembrance of the past may give rise to dangerous insights, and the established society seems to be apprehensive of the subversive contents of memory.”
